You are either making a living or your designing a life!

What a great audio from Tony Robbins.
He says it straight to the point
"You are either making a living or your designing a life! Your current conditions do not dictate your future potential. Set a goal, but then follow it up with a plan and MASSIVE ACTION !!"

The Risk of Comfort...

Ever wonder why people don't make changes in their lives? Its called the COMFORT ZONE for a reason. Its easier to stay in the usual, the ordinary, the comfortable. But if nothing changes... then nothing changes.

"If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary." -- Jim Rohn

Here is a simple very effective exercise to apply the above quote to your life.

Take a piece of paper & write down your top goal that you have for yourself. Below it write 3 action steps you should take to reach it.Right below that draw vertical line down the page.On the left write all your excuses why you cant reach that goal,or why you cant reach it right now. Then to the right of the line write all the things that would happen in your life if you did reach that goal.

SEE WHICH SIDE OUTWEIGHS THE OTHER.

Are you holding onto excuses because its more comfortable or are you ready to see and feel all the things you deserve on the right!

Live the life you deserve,

Why SMART goals work ...

When I first learned about setting goals I was taught the SMART method. Looking back on it I wonder why I tried to set goals any other way?

I encourage you to read this with a open mind and to use it with any of the goals you want to reach.

So lets start with what SMART stands for:
S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Realistic
T = Timely

Specific

Goals should be straightforward and emphasize what you want to happen. Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do.
Specific is the What, Why, and How of the SMART model.
WHAT are you going to do? Use action words such as direct, organize, coordinate, lead, develop, plan, build etc.
WHY is this important to do at this time? What do you want to ultimately accomplish?
HOW are you going to do it? (By…)
Ensure the goals you set is very specific, clear and easy. Instead of setting a goal to make or money or be wealthier, set a specific goal to increase your income by $10,000 a month or to start a business part time, 2-4 hours a a day while working your JOB to create income to build up and replace your JOB.

Measurable

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. In the broadest sense, the whole goal statement is a measure for the project; if the goal is accomplished, then there is success. However, there are usually several short-term or small measurements that can be built into the goal.
Choose a goal with measurable progress, so you can see the change occur. How will you see when you reach your goal? Be specific! “I want to make an extra $10,000 a month on my own before my birthday” shows the specific target to be measure. “I want to be wealthy opr debt free” is not as measurable.
Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goals.

Attainable

When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop that attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. Your begin seeing previously overlooked opportunities to bring yourself closer to the achievement of your goals.
Goals you set which are too far out of your reach, you probably won’t commit to doing. Although you may start with the best of intentions, the knowledge that it’s too much for you means your subconscious will keep reminding you of this fact and will stop you from even giving it your best.

A goal needs to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it and it will need a real commitment from you. For instance, if you aim to gain an extra $100,000 in the next week most likely that is not attainable with your current methods, But setting a goal to gain $10.000 a month over the next year is more attainable for you. Knowing someone and working with others who are doing this as well can help create The feeling of success which helps you to remain motivated.

Realistic

This is not a synonym for “easy.” Realistic, in this case, means “do-able.” It means that the learning curve is not a vertical slope; that the skills needed to do the work are available; that the project fits with the overall strategy and goals of the organization. A realistic project may push the skills and knowledge of the people working on it but it shouldn't’t break them.
Devise a plan or a way of getting there which makes the goal realistic. The goal needs to be realistic for you and where you are at the moment. A goal of never taking the chance on yourself by spending money on your growth, development or your future may not be realistic for a true entrepreneur, someone who desires freedom. But finding a business that is more suitable to your passion, one that is lucrative is more realistic.

Be sure to set goals that you can attain with some effort! Too difficult and you set the stage for failure, but too low sends the message that you aren’t very capable. Set the bar high enough for a satisfying achievement!

Timely

Set a time frame for the goal: for next week, in three months, by January 1st 2012. Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.
If you don’t set a time, the commitment is too vague. It tends not to happen because you feel you can start at any time. Without a time limit, there’s no urgency to start taking action now.
Time must be measurable, attainable and realistic.

Everyone will benefit from goals and objectives if they are SMART.
SMART, is the instrument to apply in setting your goals and objectives.

To your success

Never Let Your Fear Make Your Decisions for You...

There are a lot of emotions in this world that can make you feel sick to your stomach, but perhaps the worst emotion of all is fear. When I think about all that I failed to do in my life because my fears got the best of me, I feel sad and ache inside. I am so grateful that I learned to Never Let Your Fear Make Your Decisions for You...

When deciding to go to college, I had a love of fashion but knew I was good in science. So instead of stepping out into the unknown and risking the fear of failure I chose my comfort zone and went to school to become a nurse. After graduation I went on to become a successful Pediatric ICU nurse for many years. But yet again I was unhappy with my choice and actually so stressed out I got Burnt Out. Burnt Out and Stressed out,I was Faced with a choice here of starting in a new industry- personal development or stay in nursing, I chose to face my fears and walk away from nursing, something i was not happy with to start in an industry that was almost brand new to me. I had never had my own business before, but I knew without a doubt I wanted it.

Throughout my life there have been chances I never took, friends I never made, places i never visited all because of these very ugly, very real fears. I like how Shakespeare put it in 'Measure for Measure' :

Our doubts are traitors
And make us lose the good we oft might win
By fearing to attempt.

The best advice i ever received was "Don't let your fears make your decisions. You make your decisions!" And this little piece of advice changed my life over 6 years ago.

Think of all the things that would never have been accomplished by people if they did not act in the face of fear. Think of the things you took action on despite fear.

Acting in the face of fear will never be easy, but you will always be glad you did.

So even when that little voice inside is saying "You stink" "You'll fail" "Don't try" Never let your fears make your decisions. You make them!

Bill Clinton Supports Home Based Business

I stumbled across this great video of former President Bill Clinton sharing his thoughts on our industry – Network Marketing.

Congratulations to all of those in the industry who take a stand for personal responsibility and production.

In my opinion – Network Marketing is the average persons BEST CHANCE of becoming financially independent working for themselves. Not that those involved in the industry are by any means “average”. It takes courage to believe in yourself enough to embark on the journey of personal and financial freedom.

I’d love for you to share your thoughts after listening to what Mr Clinton shares.

A Life of Purpose....

Figure out what you love to do as early as you can and then organize your life around figuring out how to make a living at it.

Have you ever asked yourself the question "How do I know I what I'm doing is what I'm meant to be doing with my life? How do I know that I have found my purpose? Is it too late to change?"

I asked myself these very questions almost 6 years ago when i was working as a pediatric nurse and the answer was not surprising to me that I was not living my life on purpose.

Its easy to get caught up in a career that you think your suppose to be doing and then end up doing it for many years, going through the motions, unhappy day after day.

The answer to the question, am i living my life on purpose actually doesn't have to be difficult, just check your emotions. Are you happy? If you can say that you feel happiness and enthusiasm towards what you do than congratulations you are living your life on purpose. Unfortunately as i mentioned i was not. So how do you go about changing this?

Here are a few quick exercises you can do to help yourself get clear.

#1 What specific words evoke emotion in you? For example: creativity, enthusiasm, love, energy, powerful, empower, freedom

#2 What are some famous quotes or phrases that you like?
For me it is "Whether you think you can or can't your right. And Champions believe in themselves even when no one else does."

#3 List some of your unique personal qualities.
For example: coach able, committed, persistent, focused, great listening skills, etc

#4 List some ways you enjoy expressing the qualities you listed above.

#5 Look at the words, qualities, quotes and actions you listed above. DO they begin to reveal something about you? Chances are they are showing you ideas about what your life's purpose is.

For me I began to see that I loved empowering and inspiring others to reach their goals and potential in life by living my life with enthusiasm and integrity. Which in turn lead me to work in personal development media and education.

What You Think About, You Bring About!

Lets have some fun! First of all close your eyes. Picture your high school Science teacher running their long fingernails down a black chalkboard. Take some time now, close your eyes and visualise. Makes you shiver doesn’t it? Even though this event didn’t actually take place right now in this moment, it still causes a physical reaction in the body. The reason for this is because the mind cannot tell the difference between events that are real and those that are vividly imagined. If we can create a vivid mental picture of how our reality will look, sound, smell and feel, our mind will support us in experiencing it as though it were actually real.

We can all create a vivid mental picture of the life we desire, we can then go about reinforcing this future life into our consciousness by daily repetition. A great way to do this is by writing a short story. Writing our future life as if we are already experiencing it and then reading it twice a day. The reason for reading it twice a day acts as deliberate reinforcement and the more familiar it becomes, the greater will be our belief in its ultimate realisation. Before too long, what was once an uncomfortable and difficult concept to grasp will soon become an expectation of what our future will resemble. And here’s the wonderful thing….when such a future appears to be inevitable, we will find ourselves acting in ways that are consistent with it actually happening.

Share with me part of the vision for your future self!

From a Purpose ....

Have you ever thought about the question what were you put on this earth to do? At first it can seem like a really big, deep question that may in fact take years to answer. But it doesn't have to be.

This should be something that is fun and exhilarating. The best starting point in fact can be choosing something that inspires you in your life right now. You can always change this along the way, but working form a purpose today is better than having no purpose at all. Your purpose should also be unique to you. It doesn't need to be complex, just something that inspires you to work hard every day and take action on things.

Here's an example, Walt Disney's purpose was to make people happy. Looking at his purpose you cans see how they made decisions about the things he created.

The same goes for us. If my purpose is to help others be inspired and live their full potential, than every action i take throughout my day will be working hard towards that.

You see its our purpose that helps direct our lives. And without one its easy to get side tracked. So no matter how simple choose something today that inspires and motivates you.

Be Clear ....

"Outstanding people have one thing in common: an absolute sense of mission" Zig Ziglar

Life can get crazy, sometimes it can even seem like things are going at the speed of light. Its so easy to get caught up in all the day to day things, like work, tasks, meetings, picking up the kids, cleaning, etc. And at the end of the day were exhausted. Have you ever been there? Its a dangerous cycle to get caught up in because you can wake up one day and find that you worked so hard only to get somewhere you don't want to be.

Its like the old adage of climbing a ladder of success, only to find that the ladder was pressed up against the wrong wall the whole time.

Take the time to sit down today, even if it for one hour and ask yourself. What do you want to do with your life? Is what your doing now in alignment with that purpose? If its not, when would be the right time to make a change? If not today... when?

About 6 years ago, this happened to me. And I thank God everyday that i took the time to sit and ask myself what I wanted to do.I always knew I wanted to help people, but be a Nurse was just not my path. And the universe was trying to tell me this. In fact it practically hit me upside the head! Fast forward years later from being burnt out, exhausted and unhappy... I live I life now i know is on purpose because i get to help people fulfill a life they only had dreamed of before.

Take the time today for yourself. Don't let your thoughts tell you its only meant for someone else. happiness and abundance is meant for you to.

The 101 List

"The indispensable first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: decide what you want." -- Ben Stein (Actor)

Ask yourself one simple questions, What do you want in life?
Notice your answer. Is is clear and decise or is it vague and unknown.
Our mind is the most powerful instrument that we have, it can work with us or against us. And it largely depends on what we choose to focus on.... So think of it this way, if you don't know what you want you are going to attract things into your life that probably wont make you happy or satisfy you because you don't know what it is you want in the first place.

Decide what you want, focus positively on it and energy will flow where your attention goes.

Here's a simple and effective way to get clear on what you want. This exercise will keep your mind on the right track. Just write a list of 101 things you want to do, be or have. Yes 101 things! this will help you discover what you really want and will boost your energy and help you get the most out of your life.

Life is an exciting adventure worth living to the fullest, so why not start today.

Grab some paper, a journal or index cards and start writing. Write down everything in detail and don't stop till you get to 101.

Then every time you achieve something on the list, check it off and write VICTORY next to it. See for yourself how this exercise can help transform your life.

No Limits

If you only pursue what other people think is realistic, you will never discover what you really want or experience what you really deserve.

I read that statement in a book by Jack Canfield - the Success Principles. After reading it I started thinking, why is it that when we were little all we did was think about what we want. In fact we could not stop thinking about what we want until we got it. I see this everyday with my daughter Chloe, she sees something she wants and she goes for it. Just the other day she saw the baby monitor and the toilet bowl. She knew she wanted both so she grabbed the monitor and dropped it in the toilet bowl. After seeing this of course I told her no, that does not go there. But yet she still remained focused on the things she wanted to do. She couldn't imagine that a monitor does not go into a toilet.

So the point Im making with this is its not a hard question to ask a child what do they want, but as an adult if you get asked that question a lot of times its followed by I want this but its not realistic. When you are thinking about what you want or who you want to be why do you limit yourself by thinking 'practical' or 'realistic'? If you limit your dreams you limit your potential.

High achievers always see the world from a different perspective. They see it as a place where anything can happen. They believe anything is possible and they would rather be apart of the solution than the problem.

Be the solution in your life!

Law of Attraction

Every thought vibrates, every thought radiates at a specific signal and every thought attracts a matching signal back. This is the Law Of Attraction.

A great demonstration of this would be – lets say you turn on the radio and you have the station set at 105.1, you would not expect to pick up the music being transmitted from the frequency of say 98.1. You understand that the radio vibrational frequency must match – and the law of attraction works the same way.
The vibrational thoughts that we have, always match what we are attracting.

If there is something that you want – that you desire – you need only put your attention to it and by the law of attraction it will come to you. Now here’s the key – if there’s something that you DO NOT want…lets say “I just don’t want to be in debt anymore” – and if you put your focus on this “getting out of debt as an example”- the universe will simply pick up the vibration of “debt” and deliver more debt to you.

This is why its so important to be conscious of what it is that you are thinking. Whatever we think about we bring about – whether we want it or not. There was a time in my life when I was in major financial difficulty and I learnt to replace my thoughts of worrying about the debt with thoughts of abundance and wealth. I simply made a conscious decision to change my thinking. Affirmations and visualisation are two great tools in which to assist in harnessing the powerful law of attraction.

What are some instances in your life when you have witnessed the power of the “law of attraction?”
